Overwatch Summer Games event returns this week: see the new skins so far

This Thursday, August 9, Overwatch's Summer Games event will kick off on all platforms.

Summer Games is one of many seasonal Overwatch in-game events that rotate throughout the year. The 2018 version of this event takes place August 9-30.

Although Blizzard didn't say what activities this year's iteration will bring us, it's not unreasonable to assume that the popular Lucioball brawl, a 3v3 football match featuring the beloved hero, will return.

Lucioball modifies some of Lucio's abilities, but it's essentially a goofy take on the sport that sees one player staying back as a goalkeeper while the other two attempt to score.

What Blizzard did confirm, however, is that the 2018 Summer Games will bring a few new skins. This is to be expected, and it's likely the thing players look forward to the most.

So far, Blizzard unveiled new skins for Winston, Reinhardt, D.Va, and Ana. See below for a look at Catcher Winston (Legendary), Gridironhardt Reinhardt (Legendary), Wavedancer D.Va (Legendary), and Cabana Ana (Legendary).

It's also safe to expect skins from previous Summer Games iterations to return. If they do, they're going to be much cheaper than the new ones. We're waiting on Blizzard to detail everything coming with Summer Games 2018.
