Ouya free-to-try policy "cleans up the app store"

All Ouya games are required to to be free-to-try, and CEO Julie Uhrman told GamesIndustry this should help keep the crowdfunded console's online store free from dross. "It cleans up the app store. It removes the confusion between a paid app store and a free app store. We also think it cuts down on the copycat games, where you have games that look like each other and one is paid but the other is free and you don't know what to do," she explained. Uhrman said the free-to-try model is what really sets the $99 micro-console apart from competitors. Ouya is expected in June.
