Olivier Rameil to head up Atari's mobile and online games division

Atari has appointed former Gameloft executive Olivier Rameil as European sales and marketing director. In his new position, Ramiel will head up the firm's mobile and online games division which oversees the firm's XBL offerings in the region. "Atari’s shift in strategy to mobile gaming represents an incredible opportunity to bring great new games based on some legendary intellectual properties to a contemporary audience," said Rameil. “The company has already achieved demonstrated success in the US mobile market with Atari’s Greatest Hits, Breakout: Boost and Asteroids: Gunner, and I look forward to expanding upon this success in the EMEA market.” Atari announced earlier this month it was reaffirming its commitment to the mobile space, stating with putting Unlimited 2 developer Eden Games up for sale. Thanks, MCV.
