Oddworld: Soulstorm announced for PS5, also coming to PC, PS4

A new look at Oddworld: Soulstorm was shown today for PlayStation 5.

Oddworld: Soulstorm was announced for PlayStation 5 today during the PS5 showcase, but it is also coming to PC and PlayStation 4.

It will be a same-day release on console and PC through the Epic Games Store.

Soulstorm is the second game in the quintology, which tells the story of Abe, an unlikely hero, that goes from being Big Corporate's slave to potentially freeing his people and igniting a revolution "that could change his world."

In the game, you will loot from trashcans, pickpocket, and search lockers to find items to craft weapons and tools which you will use to save your fellow Mudokons.

It also features light RPG elements, leader boards, and a progression system.

The follow-up to Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty has been in development since 2016, Soulstorm picks up after Abe killed Molluck the Glukkon and freed the Mudokons. He and 300 emancipated Mudokons become stranded in the desert with no food, water, or shelter. Here, they find “solace in a strange new brew,” with “insidious ramifications for their newfound freedom.”
