Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty patch adds old school controls

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty has been updated on PS4 with the option to use controls more like those you remember from the 90's.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty introduced some modernisation to how players navigate Abe through the puzzles of Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus, but not everybody likes change.

Eurogamer reports Just Add Water has released a title update adding two classic control schemes to the options menu:

  • Button To Run: the first option makes Abe walk with the analog stick until the player holds down L2, rather than Abe both walking and running with the stick.
  • Button To Hop: once toggled on, players can make Abe hop forward with just a single button, making gaps, mines and enemies easier to navigate.

Apparently the patch was inspired by fan demand for classic controls. Hopefully we'll see these options in the upcoming Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, Vita, Wii U and Xbox One versions, too.
