This Oculus mod displays your actions in third-person

Oculus Rift is a headset, and by its very nature a first-person device. However, a modder has found a way to display the user's actions in third-person, a bit like Grand Theft Auto. He's posted a video of his work online.

It follows news that Oculus is banning Rift sales in China due to "extreme" re-seller issues.

The video below was produced by the team at mepi.pl, and shows how, by rigging Oculus Rift up with a pair of GoPro cameras, users can see themselves in third person through the headset.

The cameras are attached to a pole that pans as you move your head, giving you proper, motion-based viewpoint control as you move.

Check it out, and let us know what you think.
