Oculus no longer developing PC-only VR

Facebook has announced it will no longer developer PC-only VR, what with Oculus Quest 2 coming out.

According to the company, the community and developers prefer the wireless all-in-one headset Quest.

Because of this, Oculus will now focus on VR headsets moving forward instead of PC-only hardware, with sales of Rift S ending in 2021.

Sales of the original Quest will also when Quest 2 is brought to market. The company said it will continue to support the original quest Quest with "new features and gaming experiences moving forward."

The company also said Oculus Link will exit beta this fall with improved fidelity and support for 90 Hz coming soon.

And next year, a unified system experience that "taps directly into the Quest user interface," will debut allowing you to find all of your PC and  Quest games in one spot.

Oculus Quest 2 will launch on October 13 and will run you $299. It features a nearly 4K display, 6GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of built-in storage. It will also weigh 10% less.
