Octopath Traveler shipped 1 million units in three weeks

Octopath Traveler is very popular with Switch users. One million units popular.

Nintendo and Square Enix announced Octopath Traveler has shipped 1 million units globally since it released three weeks ago.

No wonder the publisher had issues meeting retail demand at release. That's quite a figure, and includes both retail and eShop digital downloads.

Three days after release Octopath Traveler was out of stock at many retail locations, prompting Square Enix to apologize for the  inconvenience.

The stock issue affected both Japan and the US with a 1-2 month wait for a boxed copy in some cases. The publisher suggested folks download the game instead if they wanted to play it right away.

Octopath Traveler released for Switch to rather nice reviews and in case you missed it, here’s our Octopath Traveler review.
