NPD Australia H1 shows shooters back on top

NPD Australia has released sales charts for the first half of 2011, with Call of Duty: Black Ops unsurprisingly taking home the crown.

Pokemon Black and White took out second place, with White proving more popular. Nintendo saw further success with the tenacious charting of Wii Fit, now two years old.

Although family games have reigned over the Aussie charts for several years in a Wii-driven trend, the core showed its hand strongly in the last six months, with Crysis 2 and Killzone 3 giving shooters three entries in the top ten.

The locally-produced L.A. Noire and AFL Live both charted strongly, which is heartening, particularly given the former's late release.
