No Vita plans for Borderlands 2, 2K confirms

2K has told VG247 there are no plans for a Vita version of Borderlands 2 at present, despite heavy rumour to the contrary.

The rumours appear to have sprung from an image of a purported email from Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford, which apparently urges gamers to contact 2K and Sony about the possibility of a port to the new handheld.

"I love the Vita as do a lot of folks at the studio and we have explored this. We'll need some partner's help and partner's commitments to make this happen," it reads, apparently in response to an email suggesting a Vita port.

A Reddit thread attempting to popularise the movement has gained some traction, and includes publicly available contact details for Sega and 2K PR.

2K could not confirm the veracity of the email, and a representative did not offer comment on whether fan pressure might result in a port's production.

Borderlands 2 releases on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September.
