No, Rare Replay isn't coming to Wii U

Some Wii U owners apparently believe Minecraft's release on the console is a sign of things to come.

It seems, out of nowhere, a rumour started making the rounds that Rare Replay, the 30-game collection released on Xbox One in the summer, is coming to Nintendo's Wii U.

Although it is more like speculation and wishful thinking on the part of some Nintendo fans than an actual rumour, it got big enough that Rare - which is owned by Microsoft - and Microsoft Studios both chimed in to say how such a thing isn't happening.

First, the Twitter account for Microsoft Studios was inundated with requests to bring Rare Replay to Wii U, to which it replied with this tweet. They even united under the hashtag "RareReplayforWiiU."

Some believe the resurgence of this idea has something to do with the impending release of Minecraft on Wii U, a port that's been a long time coming. Unfortunately, Rare Replay won't be another Microsoft release on Wii U.
