Nitrous engine demonstration shows battle featuring over 10,000 spaceships 

Oxide Games, which is comprised of former Civilization 5 developers and Stardock’s CEO Brad Wardell, has posted a tech demo of its 64-bit Nitrous engine which the firm is using to develop titles for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The 3D benchmark titled Star Swarm is shown in the video below, where over 10,000 units battle it out in space The firm also plans to release a demo of what you see in the video on Steam "soon".

Oxide has said previously its Nitrous engine is being used by three projects, one of which is currently codenamed 'Mars,' and being helmed by Civilization 4 lead designer Soren Johnson at Mohawk Games.
