Apple poaches top UK games PR from Nintendo, Activision

Apple is apparently making a serious play on the UK games PR space by hiring top men from both Nintendo and Activision.

MCV reckons Nintendo UK PR head Rob Saunders, who announced his departure after seven years earlier this week, is heading to Apple to look after "apps across the iPad, iPod and iPhone ranges." It was rumoured in the last few days that he was moving to Activision, but that's be refuted by someone familiar with the matter.

In addition, MCV's reporting that UK PR stalwart Nick Grange is leaving Activision's top UK comms job for Apple.

Apple has made obvious designs on the more traditional games industry this year.

The tech giant announced iPad2 immediately after Nintendo's GDC keynote - in which president Satoru Iwata openly criticised app store pricing policies - and has confirmed it's to hold a major press conference detailing the future of Mac OS during E3 week.
