Nintendo to host event at E3 2013 booth

Nintendo won't be holding a press conference at E3 2013, but it will be bringing press to a special event hosted by Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime.

Destructoid reports Nintendo has invited US press to an event called "Come Play With Us @ The Wii U Software Showcase".

Held at the platform holder's showfloor booth, the event will involve presentations from Fils-Aime and Miyamoto as well as a "unique hands-on time experience" with Nintendo's latest games.

The event kicks off at 10:30AM PST on June 11, and will predate general admission access to Nintendo's booth.

There's no word on whether the event will be livestreamed for public viewing, but we may more details tomorrow when we snaffle our own invite.

Nintendo has made noises recently about ramping up the Wii U software output, but has lately come to rely more on its Nintendo Direct presentations to make announces; last year's press conference was largely non-informational.
