Nintendo Switch - here's how to add and send friend requests

As previously reported, Friend Codes make a return with Nintendo Switch. If you aren't familiar with such things, you might want to give this video a watch.

Earlier today, the day one firmware update for Nintendo Switch went live, and along with adding the eShop, sharing and the like, it also brought along the ability to add friends.

Friend codes consist of 12-digits generated for each player which are then handed to a friend so they can add you to their friends list.

These codes are the primary way of adding friends, and users can search for players locally, add them from a recently met list, or by linking Miitomo or Super Mario Run  Nintendo Accounts to the Switch console.

If this sounds confusing, Arekkz shows you how to do all of this in the video above.

Nintendo Switch releases tomorrow - unless it's already March 3 in your region. In that case, it's out right now.
