Nintendo rules 70% of the games market in Japan  

Nintendo products make up close to 70% of the games market in Japan, according to a Media Create report attached to the latest retail charts. This is the largest share of the Japanese hardware and software market Nintendo has acquired in the last five years. On the hardware side of things, Nintendo offerings make up 75% of all hardware sales, compared to Sony's 23%. The latest charts show the top 10 games in the country were on Nintendo consoles with 69.74% of software sold, compared with Sony consoles garnering 29.18% of sales. Via Wired.
