Nintendo may announce Wii U release date during press event on September 13

Nintendo will host a Wii U press event in New York City on September 13. The event is to be presented by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, with select media outlets today receiving invitations. The press event promises to reveal "more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment." The last time Reggie hosted a press event in NYC was to announced the release date of 3DS, which was back in January 2011. Before that, the NYC venue was the Wii launch event. Still, we won't know whether Nintendo will announce the release date for Wii U or not until the event occurs. Still, it's best to keep your ears to the ground on it. Thanks, Kotaku.
