Nintendo looking for non-game business opportunities

Famous Nintendo game developer, Shigeru Miyamoto, is looking for possible business opportunities for the company outside of games.

During Nintendo's annual investor meeting, Miyamoto answered a question asking how directly he is involved in production of games at Nintendo. He said that developing games wasn't the only thing he was looking at.

"I often think of other things, such as what the future of the Japanese movie industry will be like. I do not have any concrete visions yet, but I am trying to keep my eyes on a variety of fields and to find any small possibilities for Nintendo to be involved in one way or the other," he said.

Miyamoto put Nintendo's recently released Audioguide Louvre app for Nintendo 3DS, which is a free download that gives visitors a private tour of the Louvre museum as an example of the firm pursuing non-game business opportunities.

"The [Audioguide Louvre] has not made money yet, but it has the potential to be one of our core businesses in the future," he disclosed.
