Nintendo drops Australian DS RRP

Nintendo Australia has announced an AUD $50 drop on the recommended retail price for both current DS models.

The DSi, which previously went for AUD $250, has been dropped to AUD $200, while the DSi XL is down to AUD $250.

The portable console has been the best-selling hardware in Australia for six years running.

Nintendo has shifted 3.1 million DS units in Australia across the console's range of models since launch in 2005.

If you're thinking of upgrading, the 3DS is still around AUD $350, although many retailers are offeirng trade-in deals on DS hardware.
