Nintendo dishes out AR shirts to early 3DS adopters

Nintendo Europe has unveiled a cool bonus for the first customers to register their 3DS consoles on the Club Nintendo website this Friday - an Augmented Reality card-impregnated t-shirt.

That sounds a bit rubbish, but the idea is that you'll be able to point 3DS's built-in AR games software at somebody and have a dragon burst out of their chest. That sound better? Thought so.

The first 3,000 Europeans to register their console on Club Nintendo using the unique code inside each 3DS box will get the shirt. Registering your 3DS will also net you 750 stars, which can then be put towards any number of Nintendo goodies, from a Nintendo branded laptop bag to a Metroid Other M ringtone.

Thanks, Joystiq.
