Nintendo closes service repair centers in the US over COVID-19

Nintendo has closed its service repair centers in the US.

The company announced the closures today as a preventative measure against the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

"In accordance with federal and local guidelines, our repair centers are closed until further notice," reads the notice. "We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

"Once repair services resume, we will work as quickly as possible to get you playing again."

During the closure, if you send in a Nintendo system, the package may be returned as undeliverable.

Also, if you have already sent your unit in for repair, it will remain in the shop until the centers open back up. This means it could be a while before you have access to your console again.

If you are worried about your warranty expiring during the closure, Nintendo said it would honor the warranty for the amount of time repair centers were closed.
