New XCOM: Enemy Unknown footage details multiplayer

Firaxis lead designer Jake Solomon discusses the competitive side of the game.

We managed to grab Solomon at gamescom 2012, where the team have been showcasing XCOM's much-anticipated multiplayer section. He revealed players will be given 10,000 points before each match, all of which should be spent on aliens, weapons, and other helpful items.

Once your squad is assembled, you'll be tasked with destroying another player's team. Multiplayer is one-on-one, but with numerous characters on each side, the game doesn't suffer from a lack of strategy.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be available on November 12 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
