New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe announced for Switch

The rumoured New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has been officially announced for Nintendo Switch.

During the Nintendo Direct that aired overnight, Nintendo released a bevy of announcements for first and third-party game. Ports of Wii U games were among them, as expected.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is coming to Switch on January 11, and as the rumour suggested, the package also includes New Super Luigi U. Mario, Luigi, and Toad return as playable characters, but they'll also be joined by Nabbit, and Toadette.

Playing as Nabbit will negate all damage done to the player, whereas Toadette can turn into Peachette by grabbing the super crown. Doing this offers her enhanced mobility and makes the game more accessible for beginners thanks to slower falls.

Between the two games, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe includes 164 courses.
