New Smash Bros Wii U screenshot shows Pokemon X & Y's Xerneas

Eagle-eyed Pokemon fans have spotted the back of a Pokemon's head! It's Xerneas, appearing in a Smash Bros Wii U screenshot. The deer-like Pokemon has recently has a starring role on the box art of Pokemon X. This has led to speculation that the antlered 'Mon will be a playable character, but Sakurai isn't telling.

Posting on Miiverse Sakurai wrote, ""We have absolutely nothing to announce today regarding Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. Really!"

It seems slightly unlikely that Xerneas would be a standalone playable character. A more likely explanation is that it will feature in Pokemon balls, or that perhaps the Pokemon Trainer will catch a place on the roster. Hopefully we'll find out soon.
