New Death Stranding trailer somehow manages to put Norman Reedus in even stranger situation than the last couple

Seven minutes of Death Stranding leaves us even more confused than previously and we're so here for it.

Death Stranding has received a new trailer courtesy of tonight's The Game Awards 2017 gala and it lives up to previous efforts by being opaque and intriguing.

This one puts the focus back on the character played by Norman Reedus, and continues themes we've seen in the previous Death Stranding trailers - water, some weird oily black stuff, the baby in a jar, and more.

You ... probably want to watch it, and join in on the "what the hell even is Death Stranding" conversations going on around the web right now. Here's a grab from the stream, but we'll have the official embed up as soon as possible.

Okay, so: Reedus wakes up in a weird wet world and doesn't seem to know why he's there. He and some other people seem to be harvesting other people. But then also there are aliens, including great big things? And people are stabbing themselves? And now we're underwater, and the baby is back? Right yes good, very clear.

Norman Reedus and Hideo Kojima appeared to talk about the trailer a bit after it aired. The pair said that they're back together and this time "nobody's gonna stop" them, which is presumably a reference to Konami shelving Silent Hills, a sin for which it will never be forgiven

Death Stranding is in the works for PS4 thanks to a deal between Kojima's new indie studio and Sony, which loves him best. We have no idea when it will come out. Sorry.
