Need for Speed: Shift 2 confirmed in EA Q1 financials

EA's just confirmed Need for Speed: Shift 2 is in development, putting it down for a Q4 FY2011 release.

The sequel was announced in the company's just-released financial report for its first quarter.

No more information was provided.

Shift 2 was outed last month by the CV of an ex EA staffer.

This is most likely the second Need for Speed title EA mentioned back in February alongside Criterion's Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, which releases in November.

The original Need for Speed: Shift released last year for PS3, 360, PSP and PC.
