Need for Speed reviews - all the scores

The Need for Speed reviews have arrived and they don't bear good news for series fans.

Ghost Games' second go at a Need for Speed game also happens to be a reboot. Simply titled 'Need for Speed', the new game follows a one-year break after 2013's Rivals, and promises to bring the series back to its street racing, custom car roots.

The game is set in the fictional Ventura Bay city, separated into six districts. You'll be choosing from 51 cars in total, including returning classics like the BMW M3, Nissan GTR and Skyline, among others.

If you have EA Access on Xbox One, you can download a ten-hour trial to get a feel for it. If you're not on Xbox One, or you don't own EA Access, you can catch the first few minutes here, or take a look at the customisation options in the final build.

We sampled the game's early hours, too, but sadly we weren't hooked.

All reviews are based on console code. Scores are out of ten unless where noted.

Need for Speed is out now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version is slated for a 2016 launch.
