Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit may be getting remastered - report

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit may be getting remastered for PC and consoles.

That's according to a VentureBeat report which states a Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remaster, like Burnout Paradise before it, is in the works at Electronic Arts.

The Criterion game was originally released in 2010 for last-gen consoles, PC, and mobile.

The VB report cites folks familiar with EA's plans who also told the site the next Plants vs Zombies title, Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville, will also be heading to Switch.

During it's EA Play Live 2020 showcase last week, the company announced it would release seven games on Nintendo's Switch console. Two of these titles were announced during the stream: FIFA 21 and  Apex Legends. One of the other seven games is Burnout Paradise Remastered which was released on Switch June 19.

EA Originals title Lost in Random is also said to be heading to Switch, and it's currently slated for 2021.

The VB report goes on to state the Velan Studios game, which was teased during the showcase, is also heading to Switch as an EA Originals title.

Until EA makes a formal announcement, file this away as a rumor for the time being.
