NBA Jam tweet "unauthorised", says EA

No, there's not a new NBA Jam game coming. Shocking, I know.

Yesterday, the NBA Jam Twitter asked fans to retweet if they were ready for a new NBA Jam game. We expected EA to say it was just a bit of social media engagement driving rather than a hint at an upcoming announce, but the publisher's story is actually far more interesting - apparently, the tweet was "unauthorised".

"Yesterday, there was unauthorized use of the @nbajam Twitter handle. We do not have any announcements to make about NBA Jam at this time," an EA representative told Joystiq.

We're not sure why EA hasn't just deleted the tweet if that's the case, but welp; maybe the publisher means unauthorised by a social media manager's boss as opposed to tweeted by somebody unauthorised to sue the account.
