Namco has "no plans" for Tales of Vesperia PS3 in the US

Namco Bandai has said that it has "no plans" to release  Tales of Vesperia  on PS3 in the US.

Released in Japan last September, a bundle including DLC and a Vesperia anime film called The First Strike is set for release on May 28 in Japan through Blu-Ray, DVD, and UMD, according to Siliconera.

"As for First Strike, it is possible that an anime publisher in the US may pick up the license as there have been Tales anime releases in the US," a Namco Bandai America publicist told GamePro. "But NBGA have no details regarding this issue at the moment."

Originally released on Xbox 360, the PS3 port for Tales of Vesperia featured new content and a new character named Patty Fleur.

Still, the PS3 version of the game is region-free if you have to have it now, but the anime film will not be as Blu-ray and UMD play requires a Japanese system.

There was some outrage among 360 owners in Japan over the PS3 port, with gamers claiming the Xbox version was nothing more than a Beta trial for the PS3 version - which eventually Namco sort of admitted in a thankful kind of way.

Tales of Vesperia was released on 360 in the west last June.

We'll mail Namco and see if we can get any more information.
