Mutant Year Zero delayed on Switch, will now release alongside first expansion in July

Mutant Year Zero will miss its June release on Switch, but take heart: it's coming in July alongside the game's first expansion.

Funcom has announced Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden will miss its June 25 release for Switch. It will now instead release alongside the Seed of Evil expansion.

Set for release on July 30, Seed of Evil comes with a new playable mutant, Big Khan the Moose. It will run you$ 14.99 or your regional equivalent.

Here's the synopsis for the expansion:

A new menace is looming in the expansion. Powerful and ominous roots have emerged and seem to be taking control over the minds of friends and foes alike. Fortunately, a new hero has arrived, and players can now add Big Khan the moose to their squad of mutants.

He is not only skilled at landing critical hits but comes with the unique mutations Ground Pound and Flame Puke, giving the option to apply a more diverse playstyle in order to succeed.

The Seed of Evil expansion be available digitally on all platforms, and the retail release of the game will also arrive on July 30.

Pre-orders for the PC version will go live today on Steam. A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be released today on Steam, consisting of both the original game and the upcoming expansion. The Deluxe Edition will also be available in retail.

The base game was released on December 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
