Music festival creator Big Fest announced by Sony

Big Fest is a music festival creation sim heading to PS Vita, which uses the power of competitive gameplay to promote real world bands.

The player's task is to "create and manage the ultimate music festival" by crafting line-ups from undiscovered bands. Players can attend each other's festivals, and can either group together to create even better festivals or compete against each other.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog, developer On The Metal said players will browse and select music from a regularly updated catalogue, and that the tagline is "your music, your way".

"The music you choose is more than the soundtrack to your game though. You’ll be promoting your bands, taking them from unknowns and making them super stars, giving them the tools to do their job and sharing your efforts for them with your friends – who will have an influence on how well you do. And the game will be using real bands, so along with having lots of fun, the game will be breaking real bands in the real world," studio managing director Steve Oldacre said.

Concrete gameplay details are expected at a later date. The Vita exclusive has not been dated.
