MUBI streaming service coming to PS3

MUBI

SCEE's announced a partnership with movie streaming service MUBI, bringing the service to PlayStation 3.

MUBI will allow you to stream movies that aren't in the mainstream arena, with stuff from Tarantino, the Coen brothers, Kubrick and more on offer, as well as international films. No Bruckheimer for you, then.

The key message being sent across for the service is "quality over quantity", compared to PS3's video delivery system.

"You’ll find undistributed festival gems ripe for your discovery, your favorite recent independent and art-house releases. Names like the Coen brothers, Godard, Kitano, Almodóvar, Tarantino, and Van Sant are some we’ll bring home to you," it says in a post on the EU PS Blog.

"Palm d’Or winners and simply films we think should have won awards. But that’s not all. We’ll bring you exclusive online premieres, collaborations with international film festivals, and retrospectives of some of the best cinema the world has ever seen."

There are shots of how the service works in the link above. A video of it is below.
