Movie adaptations for Saints Row and Metro still possible, says Koch

Movie adaptations for the Saints Row and Metro franchises are still possible now that both are owned by Deep Silver's parent company, Koch Media.

Speaking with VentureBeat, the firm's CEO Klemens Kundratitz said he is considering films for all of its game properties.

“[Movies] not out of the question," he said. "If a company can deliver that transmedia experience, we are probably one of the few that have the ambition and ability to deliver that.

"At the same time, I have to be honest, we have not been able to deliver that [transmedia experience] yet, but it’s one of my long-term strategic goals to do so.”

The firm has experience with films, as it was a release partner for the films Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Margin Call, and Moon in Germany.

In 2011, the film rights to Dead Island were sold to Lionsgate, and the film is still in development.

Metro: Last Light releases May 14 in Northern America and May 17 in Europe.

Saints Row 4 releases on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 August 20 in the US and August 23 in the UK.
