Mortal Kombat Legacy director no longer tied to Mortal Kombat film

Kevin Tancharoen, creator and director Mortal Kombat Legacy, is no longer slated to direct the Mortal Kombat film which has been in the works since 2011. Taking to Twitter, Tancharoen stated: "After 3 years of Kombat, I've decided to move on to other creative opportunities. I wish everyone involved in the movie big success. Thanks!" Last we heard, the film's budget was set at $40 million with the plot revolving around a supermarket employee who discovers he has super powers. Via Ain't It Cool. Thanks, rumrod.
