Mortal Kombat 11 PC mod lifts 30fps cap on fatalities, fatal blows, and intros

Mortal Kombat 11 PC mod bumps up the framerate on capped aspects of the game to 60fps.

Modder Endri Lauson has released a PC mod for Mortal Kombat 11 that removes the 30fps cap on the game's menus, intros, fatalities, fatal blows, and Krypt, as well as doing away with the black side bars on Ultrawide monitors for the Krypt and menus.

Mortal Kombat 11 runs at 60fps across all platforms, but certain portions of the game drop down to 30fps. The mod has been well received by PC players, although a lot of them are questioning whether using it will get them banned.

"This game is amazing and deserves to be played in 60fps," says Lauson in the description of the YouTube showcasing his handy work. "Fans deserve to have an amazing experience. I hope you all enjoy and have fun!" You can take a look at the 60fps action below.

Lauson notes that Krypt is "incredibly unoptimized" so players are unlikely to see any changes there with the mod unless they have a very high spec PC.

Mortal Kombat 11 launched last week to pretty decent reviews.

The game has received criticism following its launch for the Towers of Time and Krypts, with the devs fending off accusations that its designed to encourage in-game purchases. Since then, NetherRealms has confirmed that it's working on hot fixes and improvements to address these issues.
