Monty Python Facebook title The Ministry of Silly Games now in beta

python

The Ministry of Silly Games from Zattikka will be the first Monty Python game for in 13 years and as well as a first for Facebook, and it's currently in beta.

RPS got to play around with it a bit, and here's is basically what the folks there had to say on it:

It’s very clear that the team making it are huge fans of Python. And with the access to Gilliam’s amazing collection of Python assets they’re plundering it all to cram in as much as possible. I’m not sure, at this point, whether the clonish minigames and ultra-simple quests will be enough to grip more serious gamers such that they want to explore it all and get the Python fun. However, in a Facebook market so bereft of depth, this does look like it’s trying an awful lot harder than much of its competition.

Apparently it at least has more depth than critter-breeding and veggie cultivation titles on the social network, so that's a plus if you play around on the site.

According to the publisher, the game is "the first ever to allow multiple players to personalize and interact with a whole new world of Python", and t will be completely free - you'll just have to log in to Facebook to play it.

The game includes a host of  "mini games" which bring the Monty Python characters, sketches and locations to life such as:  Mr. Creosote (self-explanatory), Twit Roulette (a take on Upper Class Twit of the Year), In the Ministry: The Dungeon (has the Spanish Inquisition folks along with The Three Headed Knight from Holy Grail), and quite a few more.

You can check out some of the mini-games through here, and some fun little screenshots here.

Interested parties can sign up for the beta and email notifications on the game through here.
