Monster Hunter 4 shipments reach 2 million

Capcom has pushed out 2 million units of Monster Hunter 4 to Japanese retailers in its first two weeks on sale.

Capcom announced the figure in a press release, describing it as the highest first week shipments for any third-party 3DS title in Japan.

Sales figures have not yet been released, as Monster Hunter 4 launched on September 14; Media Create's charts for its first week should be out by Wednesday.

Capcom is yet to confirm a western launch for the 3DS exclusive Monster Hunter 4.

Monster Hunter 3, which debuted as a Wii exclusive and later came to 3DS, PS3, PSP and Wii U in multiple re-releases, did come west. Total sales of the series to date have topped 25 million.
