Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate 3DS won't have online play, Capcom confirms

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is heading to both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, but Capcom has confirmed that the handheld edition will not support online play. We reported on Capcom's online plans for the Wii U build this morning in case you missed it.

Speaking with Official Nintendo Magazine, Capcom's Yuri Araujo stated that the developer "has no plans" to take the 3DS version online.

Meanwhile, we reported that the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will use official Nintendo Network servers.

Over at Capcom Unity, senior vice president Christian Svensson said, “For Wii U we’re using Nintendo’s servers (which I’m very happy about) and I’m not sure how they’re set up. Candidly, we’re still waiting for Wii U builds in our office to play with and there’s still many moving parts that no one except for the team members has first hand experience with at this point."
