Molyneux: "I'm sure they're going to release an Xbox One without Kinect"

Microsoft continues to bundle every Xbox One console with a Kinect sensor, but 22 Cans founder Peter Molyneux has spoken out against the device, saying it's "unthinkable" that the company won't release a model without it.

Speaking with Edge, Molyneux said, "Maybe it's because we're in England, and it doesn't really use the TV stuff, but it feels more and more like a joke. My son and I sit there saying random things at it, and it doesn't work.

"They could cost-reduce it [by removing Kinect]. I'm sure they're going to release an Xbox One without Kinect. It would be unthinkable that they wouldn't."

It follows my final Kinect Sports Rivals impressions, during which I said that the device didn't have a 100% success rate. I found it occasional wouldn't register my motions and that I had to move my front room around a little to get it working.
