Mod support, villager AI top of Mojang's Minecraft wishlist

Now that Mojang has completed the official full release of survival adventure Minecraft, it has a number of goals it wants to tackle.

"I had this goal of where I wanted to take the game, but there's so much we can add and we keep finding out," creator and Mojang boss Markus "Notch" Persson told IGN.

"One thing we really wanted to do, which for some reason kind of slipped [through] the cracks, is the mod support, because lots of people are adding really cool stuff and we want to embrace that more.

"Also, we started working on the villagers and that didn't really finish in time, so we've got to keep working on that, and we have lots of surrounding features for that.

"There so much we could add. We're going to keep working for as long as people keep buying, really."

On the subject of the villagers, Notch noted that Mojang has hired an AI programming specialist, and the Minecraft and Scroll team are both trying to secure his services for their project.

Thanks, Shack.
