MLB 2K13 given March release, $1 million Perfect Game Challenge returns

Major League Baseball 2K13 will be released in March, 2K has announced.

The firm worked out an agreement with Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association, and Major League Baseball Advanced Media to release the title.

“We’d like to thank our league partners for their support in helping us reach an agreement to bring back MLB 2K,” said Jason Argent, VP of marketing at 2K Sports. “We know fans are extremely passionate about the MLB 2K series and the Perfect Game Challenge.”

American League Cy Young Award winner David Price, pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, was chosen as the cover athlete for MLB 2K13. He edged out MLB 2K12 cover athlete Justin Verlander for the cover, and is the third consecutive Cy Young Award winner to appear on the sleeve of a MLB 2K game.

The Perfect Game Challenge, the $1 million competition from 2K Sports, will also be returning for a fourth consecutive year with a new contest format and ways to win. S

Complete details of this year’s contest will be announced at a later date.

Developed by Visual Concepts, MLB 2K13 will release on March 5 or PS3 and Xbox 260.
