Minecraft Xbox 360 sells more than 1 million units in less than a week

Over 1 million copies of Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition have been snapped up since the sandbox title released less than a week ago.

Gamers are giving the game a thrashing if the statistics released by Microsoft are anything to go by. They've spent more than 5.2 million hours with the game on XBLA.

Over 4 million multiplayer sessions have been noted, which clocked a handsome 2.4 million multiplayer hours.

The game launched for Xbox 360 on May 9 and costs $20 on XBLA. This means it's made more than $20 million, which is apparently going to be split in parts between Mojang, port developer 4J Studios and Microsoft.
