Minecraft: Wii U Edition gets a Super Mario makeover

Minecraft: Wii U Edition launched at the end of last year, and an upcoming free update will bring a Mario theme to the game.

The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack comes with new skins, a Super Mario-themed pre-made world, and a set of Super Mario-themed music and item textures. You can get a peek at them in the new trailer, above.

There are a total of 40 Super Mario-themed skins including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Wario, and all the rest. And what with the new item and world textures, it'll be like a first-person Super Mario Maker. Imagine the arenas of death you can create.

The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack is out on May 18 exclusively for Wii U.
