Minecraft VR "coming along great", says Oculus CTO

Minecraft in virtual reality is really happening. Try not to throw up from excitement.

Oculus chief technology officer and former id Software sorcerer John "Literally a Rocket Scientist" Carmack has given a brief update on the progress of the VR version of Minecraft.

That the project is "coming along great" is pleasing if not weight news, but knowing that Carmack is onboard is the especially comforting bit.

Minecraft was announced for Oculus Rift and Windows 10 at Oculus VR Connect last month. It's a dream come true, obviously, and all the more special given that the project was cancelled when Facebook bought Oculus in March 2014 because Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson finds Facebook creepy. In the interim, Microsoft bought Mojang and Persson cashed out, so it's back on.
