Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor still looks like Assassin's Creed in this new trailer

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor developer Monolith has released a new trailer this time looking at the action game's gameplay rules and rune system. It still looks like Assassin's Creed though.

It follows this Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor reveal footage, that got a lot of people asking about its supposed Assassin's Creed inspiration.

Runes add buffs to Talion's weapons and can be combined to create new effects. There are also epic runes that can be crafted or looted to add significant effects to an item.

Publisher Warner Bros. is offering rune packs with Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor pre-orders. Everyone who orders gets the Deadly Archer Rune by default, which increases the damage caused by ranged headshots.

Get it from Best Buy and you'll receive the Flame Arnor Rune, which adds the fire element to Talion's sword and ramps up combos, while GameStop customers will get the Captain of the Watch costume skin and Hidden Blade Rune, which buffs his stealth strikes.

Finally, Steam pre-orders get the Orc Slayer Rune which increases Talion's special move damage.

Warner's UK pre-order deals will be revealed in due time. Stay tuned.

The game's out October 7 on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
