Microsoft reveals number of Achievements unlocked since 2005 - it's a lot

Microsoft has disclosed the number of Achievements that have been accumulated since the incentives were implemented in 2005.

So far, there have been around 6.3 billion Achievements unlocked in Xbox 360 games, and the average Gamerscore is 11,286.

The average number of points racked up since 2005 as of March 2011 is 176,802,201,383.

According to Microsoft, the 20 million people who log onto Xbox Live have accumulated 4 billion hours in multiplayer since 2002.

Just for reference, one billion hours is approximately 114,079.7189 years. So 4 billion hours is roughly 456,318.8756 years worth of gameplay - meaning folks have been playing games since Peking Man walked the earth. Sort of.
