Microsoft Research creates HoloDesk with Kinect

A new tech demo from Microsoft Research shows off a "HoloDesk", allowing users to manipulate 3D rendered objects with their hands.

Using a Kinect mounted above a transparent display, the system creates an illusion of directly touching and interacting with virtual objects. Check it out below. Mind. Blown. Next it'll be flying cars.

The new video comes on top of another which did the rounds last week, showing a touch interface projected on a user's own hand.
