Microsoft changes purchase increment for MS Points on XBL

mspoints

Microsoft has changed the way you purchase MS Points by allowing purchases in multiples of 400 instead of 500.

This means no more left over points in unusual amounts until you purchase more.

Points can now be purchased only in increments of 400, 800, 1600, and 4000, etc.

The change came about without much fanfare apparently, but was noticed by both D'toid and Kotaku.

No word on whether this change had anything to do with the lawsuit filed back in January over left-over points being "unusable".

Despite the suit, Aaron Greenberg revealed during the same month that Microsoft never intended to "mislead people" with the points scheme, and only implemented it because it was easier for users in all regions.

Whatever the reason, it has been done, which should make more than just those with obsessive compulsive disorders over even numbers happy.
