Metro: Last Light - Deep Silver clarifies PS4 port, SDK report

Deep Silver has clarified reports that 4A Games was looking to port Metro: Last Light to PS4.

According to an interview with Ukranian tech website ITCChannel, 4A Games creative director Andrew Prokhorov spooled off many interesting nuggets of information regarding Last Light, stating that there will be a PS4 version, and that it could come with the original game.

The interview also claimed a DLC season pass may happen, spanning five pieces of additional content. They may include story missions from the perspective of other characters. Work on the DLC began after the game wrapped though, suggesting they are not on-disc.

The game will supposedly get multiplayer as well, but as a separate release - possibly as an XBLA game

However, a Deep Silver representative has told Joystiq that some of Prokhorov's comments were lost in translation.

Here's the statement in full:

"It is no secret that 4A Games do want to release an SDK for Metro, finish the extremely promising multiplayer component and release this in some form, and investigate a PlayStation 4 version provided it makes commercial sense. Although no development has started on any next-gen console versions [of Metro: Last Light]. We have confirmed these hopes and ideas plenty of times before.

"However, all these ideas are just ideas at the moment. It will be some time before we can officially commit to any of these projects or suggest when they might materialize. They genuinely might all happen, but equally none of them might happen. Anyone expecting Metro: Last Light as a PS4 launch game is probably going to be disappointed."
